Beginning March 1, 2010 Senate Bill 1317 requires individuals age 18to 24 to complete an approved driver education course.  The good news is that Driver Ed in a Box® meets the criteria of an approved course under Section 521.205 of the Transportation Code.

The statute specifically states that a driving safety course (usually used for ticket dismissal and insurance discount) and an alcohol driving awareness program may not be approved as a driver education course under this law.

Although we had no hand in this legislation, we do believe that the more people who learn to drive collision-free, the safer the roads will be for everyone.
