Texas DPS exits course #101

In case you have not heard, the Texas Department of Public Safety has discontinued its parent-taught driver education course#101.  Driver Ed in a Box® course#103 is still acceptable for parent-taught driver education.

Actually, the DPS is still the regulatory agency responsible for parent-taught driver education in Texas.  However course approval has been shifted to the Texas Education Agency.

What does this mean for you?  No change really.  I am mentioning this because we have received some calls and emails from people who thought parent-taught driver education was no longer available in Texas.  That is certainly not the case.
